The Fluke 8846A replaces the Fluke 8845A at the top of the Milano bench multimeter range. The 8845A remains a capable 5.5 digit instrument, but calibration laboratories and sensor manufacturers increasingly need resolution and accuracy one class higher.
The new generation doubles resolution to 6.5 digits and improves VDC accuracy to 0.0024%, which is roughly a four fold reduction in the error budget compared with the 8845A. PRT and thermocouple inputs extend the meter into temperature calibration, and the statistics package with trend plot provides documented evidence of stability during a calibration run.
