The Fluke 789 replaces the Fluke 787 in the Milano process instrument line. The 787 required an external loop supply during transmitter calibration, which meant carrying a power pack and extra leads into the field.
The new generation integrates a selectable 24 V DC loop supply and a 250 Ohm HART resistor, so a single instrument powers the loop, energises the HART communicator and measures the return signal. DC accuracy improves to 0.05%, which keeps calibration results inside the tolerance band of most smart transmitters, and the mA output now covers source plus simulate modes up to 24 mA overrange.
