Design Objective: This project aims to develop a next-generation AI-powered intelligent tool management system, with AI-based visual recognition technology serving as its core functionality. The system is designed to supersede conventional RFID-enabled tool management cabinets currently available in the market. By leveraging advanced computer vision capabilities, it enables standardized, traceable, and auditable management of instruments and tools; supports enterprise-wide implementation and continuous improvement of 6S management practices; and mitigates foreign object debris (FOD) risks—specifically, those arising from tool misplacement or loss that could lead to operational safety incidents.
Application Advantages: Unlike RFID-based solutions, this system employs high-resolution camera acquisition coupled with proprietary AI algorithms for real-time, contactless, and label-free tool identification. It eliminates recurring consumable costs (e.g., RFID tags) and avoids interference from electromagnetic or radio-frequency environments.
